What is conductive education?

Move & Walk is based on conductive education, the Petö method, that was created by the Hungarian doctor Andràs Petö in the 1940s. The method has been adapted by the Swedish health care through further development by Eszter Horváth Tóthné, the founder of Move & Walk.

Particular to Conductive Education is that we use our knowledge from a holistic perspective both in theory and practice. We place considerable importance on dialogue and collaboration with all who work with functionally-disabled families, friends, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, vocational therapists, speech therapists, personal assistants, housing staff and others. Our training participants shall benefit from and continue to develop their newly-acquired skills in everyday situations.
The group is an important part of the pedagogy and supports social and communicative development. But all training, even in groups, is based on the individual’s needs.
